Northeast Tallahassee's Booming Business Scene Canopy Road Cafe and Others Expand

As the population continues to grow in Northeast Tallahassee, so does the business activity in the area. One of the businesses benefiting from this growth is Canopy Road Cafe, which is opening new locations in the region.

Mary Lacarakis, the owner of the new location in NE Tallahassee, is thrilled to pursue her passion in this part of town and build connections with her guests. She believes the rapid residential development in the area presents a great opportunity for Canopy Road Cafe to flourish.

NAI Talcor Commercial Real Estate advisor, Slaton Murray, acknowledges that the increasing population in Northeast Tallahassee is driving more business.

The growth in single-family homes from Apalachee Parkway up to the northeast side of Tallahassee is creating a demand for commercial establishments like restaurants.

Keith Paniucki from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice also recognized the potential in NE Tallahassee and decided to open their second location in the area.

Being confident in the region’s growth, he invested in businesses there. Across the street, Farm Stores is setting up shop, responding to the high demand for drive-thru convenience stores on the NE side.

Mary Lacarakis, residing in the area, is excited to witness more businesses arriving in this part of town, anticipating that the increased number of establishments will attract more foot traffic and benefit everyone.

Canopy Road Cafe had its soft opening on Thursday, while Farm Stores opened to the public on Friday. Jeremiah’s is scheduled to open its doors by March 2024.
