Social Security payments to retirees who depend on them may begin as early as November 1. Your payout date, however, can change according on your particular circumstances and the date you filed. If you applied for Social Security in 2024, your benefits will probably begin to arrive on November 13.

Everything you need to know about getting Social Security in November is right here, including crucial payment dates and who is eligible for the maximum payout of $3,822.

Payments in Early November

On November 1, some retirees will get their Social Security benefits. Certain groups are affected by this date, such as those who applied for Social Security before to May 1997.

However, you will not be eligible for the full amount of $3,822 if you also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) as a result of having limited resources and a low income. Actually, you’ll probably pay less.

The date to keep an eye on for people who receive both Social Security and SSI is November 1. Remember that because SSI is intended to supplement income rather than to cover the entire amount, these payments are typically lower.

On Wednesday, November 13, Social Security will make its first payment of the month of November. This date will be used to pay retirees who are between the ages of 66 and 67 and were born between the first and tenth of any given month.

Retirees must fulfill certain requirements in order to earn the maximum Social Security payout of $3,822 on November 13:

  • Submitted a Social Security application after April 30, 1997.
  • On November 1, do not receive SSI benefits.
  • Worked for a minimum of 35 years.
  • Submitted a benefit application at full retirement age (66 or 67).
  • Earned the base for contributions and benefits over the course of those thirty-five years.
  • Held positions that were covered by the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Retirees may be eligible for the maximum amount of $3,822 if all of these requirements are satisfied. However, because of their varying employment and file histories, the majority of retirees will probably receive a smaller sum.

November payments

Later in November, retirees will receive additional compensation. Your money will be received on Wednesday, November 20, if you were born between the 11th and the 20th. Likewise, on Wednesday, November 27, retirees who were born after the twentieth of the month will get their payouts.

Not all retirees between the ages of 66 and 67 are eligible for these payouts. Although the amounts will vary based on their individual earnings and Social Security filing history, retirees who are younger or older than this age range may also receive their payouts on these dates.

According to data from August 2024, the average Social Security benefit for all retirees is roughly $1,920.

The average for retirees between the ages of 66 and 67 may be somewhat lower, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) has not yet updated these figures for future payouts.

Remember that you can increase your benefits by up to 24% if you wait until you are 70 years old to apply for benefits. By choosing this option, you can wait longer to claim your benefits in exchange for higher payouts.

There will be multiple waves of Social Security payments in November, but the exact date of your payment will depend on when you filed and when you were born.

Payments will be made to retirees born on November 13 if they were born between November 1 and November 10; November 20 if they were born between November 11 and November 20; and November 27 if they were born after November 20. To remain on top of your benefits and make sure your payment is received on time, keep an eye on these dates.
