ORLANDO, Fla. —A fire broke out at an Orlando car wash early on Thursday morning, and it completely gutted the building.
It was one in the morning when the fire was reported at Squeeky’s, which is located at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Colonial Drive.
The fire quickly spread through the ceiling of the building, and the damage was particularly severe on the building’s left side.
The Orlando Fire Department dispatched many units in an effort to bring it under control; nonetheless, the car wash sustained a significant amount of damage.
There was a significant amount of burnt wood on the ceiling as well as the walls, and a portion of the metal roof had been damaged.
Squeaky operates multiple car washes in and around the Orlando area.
It is not known whether anyone was present inside the building at the time, although it is customarily closed at six o’clock in the evening, so there should not have been anyone inside, and initial reports indicate that no one was injured in the incident.
The authorities have not provided any information regarding what could have caused the fire.
Officials report that an arson investigator from the fire department was present at the scene, and they indicate that the incident is being treated as suspicious.
However, the authorities are unable to determine for certain if the fire was started on purpose or whether it was an accident.
