The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting on the 1900 block of Bucknell Avenue.
At approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, a man in his late 20s was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and head. He was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and is currently undergoing surgery.
Early investigations suggest that the victim was inside his vehicle when he was shot. Approximately 50 to 60 rifle shell casings were found at the scene.
Detectives are currently present, combing the area for potential witnesses and any available surveillance footage.
As of now, there is no information regarding a suspect(s), but some witnesses mentioned seeing a burgundy-colored sedan leaving the vicinity. It is uncertain whether this vehicle was involved in the shooting or if it was simply passing by.
