Early this morning, a police officer was shot during a home invasion in Tallahassee. The community is on edge as three suspects are still on the loose.

It all started when the Tallahassee Police Department received a report about a break-in around 2:30 a.m. As they looked deeper into it, they realized it was a targeted, drug-related incident.

They found a suspect who matched the description and tried to talk to him, but he ran away. More trouble arose when another person came out of the house and started shooting at the officers. They fired back in self-defense.

The injured officer was quickly taken to a local hospital for surgery. Thankfully, the latest news says the officer is now stable, which gives some hope in this sad situation.

Unfortunately, as of now, all three suspects, including the alleged shooter, are still on the loose, which is a major concern for public safety.

In a press conference, Police Chief Lawrence Revell urged the suspects to surrender, not just for their own safety, but for the safety of the community. He emphasized that the pursuit of justice will be relentless.

Chief Revell called the shooting an “absolute ambush” and condemned it as a “cowardly act.” He didn’t provide more details about the injured officer, out of respect for the ongoing investigation.

He did, however, praise his team for their exceptional efforts in keeping the injured officer safe and securing the area.

As the investigation continues, the Tallahassee community is staying alert and hoping for the quick capture of the suspects and a return to normalcy.
