A guy was detained by police after he devised a cunning plan to steal multiple expensive vehicles that were being left off at valet parking lots in Miami and Miami Beach, according to authorities.
According to City of Miami Police, they have apprehended Zakria Khan, a 24-year-old mastermind behind these sophisticated heists. The suspect made his court appearance on Friday afternoon before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Maria Espinosa Dennis.
Oscar Baquedano, a Sergeant of Miami Police, spoke to the judge.
“The theft of vehicles, of high-end vehicles — Bentleys, Rolls-Royce and vehicles of that nature — he re-titles them. he sends them over to other countries,” Baquedano stated.
Multiple upscale rides from hotels like Miami Beach’s famed Eden Roc were allegedly boosted by the suspect, according to detectives.
According to the arrest report, “This method of stealing cars has been a new trend where valet companies are being victimized, and subjects are stealing keys directly from the valet boxes and returning back (a) short time after to take the vehicle.”
“Basically he’s one of the ringleaders of the operation down here,” Baquedano stated.
Authorities claimed that the suspect was responsible for the theft of approximately $2 million worth of high-end automobiles, such as a Range Rover, Rolls-Royce, and Ferrari.
Heists of exotic cars have been reported from Miami to Miami Beach and other locations. The identical Montana license plate was found on some of the automobiles, according to police, who also said they were tracked to a Brickell parking garage.
Khan’s had stolen cars towed or driven to a storage facility in Hollywood in several instances, according to police.
According to authorities, Khan’s purported illicit vehicle journey came to an abrupt end at Miami International Airport when he was picked up shortly after boarding a flight from New York. Espinosa Dennis asked the suspect a question in court on Friday.

“Do you have a bank account with any monies in it?” Espinosa Dennis stated.
“No, not with any money,” Khan answers.
Police claimed that even though Khan appeared to have nothing to show for his alleged high-dollar theft, he had plans to escape trouble quickly.
Khan had an arrest warrant for the possession of machine guns and short weapons when he was taken into custody, according to the police. He’s still incarcerated at West Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
