Prosecutors said that a San Francisco man is under arrest and faces charges related to many burglaries he is believed to have committed while he was awaiting sentencing in another burglary case.
25-year-old Jeyson Garcia is accused of two charges of first-degree burglary, unauthorized driving or taking of a vehicle, receiving stolen items, and possessing burglary tools, according to the office of District Attorney Brooke Jenkins.
According to the complaint, Garcia also allegedly committed crimes while on felony probation and while being held on bond or released on his own recognizance.
Garcia was supposed to be sentenced on August 5 after being found guilty of felony second-degree burglary on July 8, according to court documents.
According to the prosecution, Garcia broke into a house on the 2700 block of San Jose Avenue on July 24 at around 1:30 in the morning. While the victim was asleep, he allegedly stole more items including the victim’s automobile.
Garcia is also charged with breaking into a house on Noe Valley’s 26th Street at roughly 4:20 a.m. on July 26, while a number of victims were in bed. Prosecutors claim that Garcia took more than $3,000 worth of goods in that instance, including two bicycles, a toolbox, and tools.
“Residential burglaries while victims are at home sleeping are especially brazen and terrify communities,” Jenkins stated.

Garcia was spotted operating the stolen car, and police took him into custody, according to the prosecution. According to the DA’s office, Garcia entered a not guilty plea to all charges at his arraignment on Wednesday. In anticipation of his upcoming Monday court hearing, he is still being held without being granted bail.
