PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. —A jury found a guy from Port St. Lucie guilty of getting a 15-year-old girl pregnant, and he will spend the rest of his life in prison.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office said that on July 18, 2020, deputies arrested 54-year-old Norman Andres Sosa after a local hospital reported that he had sexually abused a child who was pregnant.
The girl was between four and six weeks pregnant, doctors at the Cleveland Clinic told the police. When asked, both the girl and her mother said it wasn’t possible. The girl then said Sosa had hurt her for about two years. The girl told the police that Sosa had sexually abused her just the day before she went to the emergency room.
Sosa told the girl not to tell anyone or he would leave and leave her family with nothing, according to the 2020 report.
A juror found Sosa guilty of sexual abuse on a child, lewd or lascivious rape, and getting a minor pregnant at the beginning of the month.
Sheriff Ken Mascara said, “Thanks to the hard work of the people in the Sheriff’s Office on this case, this animal will never hurt a child again.” “We appreciate that the State Attorney’s Office brought the case to court and that Judge Mirman gave him the maximum sentence.”
