Five individuals were killed in a horrific murder-suicide on Long Island, New York, which is said to have occurred just before a family was scheduled to meet with a realtor to sell a recently deceased woman’s house.

Approximately thirty miles east of New York City, at noon on Sunday, Nassau County police arrived at the residence on Wyoming Court in Syosset.

Authorities said that when responding cops discovered the gunman outside, he had killed himself with a gunshot wound. In the house, they discovered four more dead victims.

The victims were not immediately identified by the police.

Following the death of the home’s owner and matriarch, Mary Macaluso, a local realtor, informed the Newsday newspaper that she was scheduled to meet with a group of relatives at the property to discuss selling the house.

“The kids were all here for the funeral, and they asked me to come to look at the house,” she stated in the newspaper. It was alleged that while other relatives were in town for the burial from Florida, one of the siblings had requested the meeting.

Documents and an internet memorial display Last week, Theresa Martha DeLucia, 95, who had been living in the home, was buried.

As of Sunday night, the online obituary was no longer accessible. The suspected gunman was in his 60s and had recently lost his mother, who was in her 90s, according to a couple who lived in the area.

The mother and son, according to the couple, have been residing in the neighborhood for many years.

“I didn’t think that… he’d take his whole family, his siblings. I thought maybe he was distraught, and he did this to himself only,” the neighbor stated.
