PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.— A suspect who ran into the woods after committing several felony crimes was caught with the help of a Port St. Lucie Police Department Drone Unit and a K-9.
Around 10 p.m., police were called to a home where Skylar Ariza, who is 25 years old, was involved in a fight.
Officers say the woman left the scene right away, but they were able to find her and her car in a Walmart parking lot quickly.
Ariza ran away from the police right away, but her car started smoking heavily and broke down in the middle of I-95 near Midway Road.
Then, Ariza got out of the car and ran into the woods.
The suspect was hiding in the woods, but a drone was sent to the area to find him. K-9 Jaxson located Ariza, who was taken into custody.
Ariza was put in jail for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding and fighting with an officer, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
