The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said that an apartment building in the 6400 block of Argyle Forest Boulevard had an unexpected drowning.
At a news meeting given by the JSO, officers said that on Thursday at 5:05 p.m., the family of a 65-year-old woman who had gone missing had called the police.
As soon as officers got there, they started looking around. They looked for her until they found her in a nearby holding pond.
She was taken out of the water and steps were taken to save her life. She was taken by JFRD to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
Ben Ryan, a reporter for Action News Jax, went to the meeting and found out that the victim often walked around her complex and did not have any known mental problems.
Detectives are now talking to family members and trying to find any witnesses or videos.
At this point, no crime is thought to have been done.
