On Friday night, a single white ball separated one Delaware Lottery ticket holder from the ninth-largest Mega Millions prize in history.
The winner will receive $10,000 instead of $627 million if they match four of the five white balls selected in addition to the gold Mega Ball. There has never been a Mega Millions winner in Delaware.
There is a long 1 in 302,575,350 chance of winning the jackpot. The odds are a far more favorable 1 in 931,001 for the $10,000 reward.
In Friday’s drawing, a Delaware ticket won $2,000 as well. This particular ticket was purchased with the Megaplier, which increased the jackpot by four. Normally, a ticket matching four white balls gets $500.
Where in Delaware the two winning tickets were sold is unknown.

Examine your ticket: 10, 17, 20, 24, and 54, along with the Megaball 08, were the winning numbers. It was a 4X Megaplier.
In all, Friday night’s drawing yielded prizes to roughly 5,700 Delaware gamers. The prizes they offer vary from $2 to $10,000. In the drawing held on August 30, 1,445,634 tickets nationwide were the winners.
However, the Mega Millions jackpot remained unclaimed, rising to $681 million with a $336.1 million cash option, making it the seventh-highest jackpot ever for the following drawing on Tuesday, September 3.
There is still an unclaimed $4 million winner in Delaware from August 20. Camden is where the ticket was purchased. The Mega Ball was 24 and the winning numbers were 05, 20, 26, 49, and 51. 4X was the Megaplier. Winners of the Delaware Lottery have a year to claim their winnings.
