There isn’t much time left for two fortunate California Lottery winners to claim their over $2 million rewards.

Unless the winner steps up, a $2,151,945 Mega Millions ticket will expire on Sunday, September 1. The ticket was bought at the Stater Bros. store located at 69255 Ramon Road in Cathedral City.

It only missed the Mega number 14, but it matched five of the six numbers drawn on March 5: 2, 49, 50, 61, and 70. As the ticket expires on a Sunday, August 30, at 5 p.m., is the deadline for claiming the reward.

Winners may mail a completed claim form and their winning ticket to the lottery’s headquarters in Sacramento, or they may pick up their prize at any one of the nine California Lottery offices. Postmarking the claim by Saturday, August 31 is required.

The second winning ticket, a $2,462,356 Powerball ticket, must be claimed by Thursday, September 19, according to lottery officials.

This ticket, which was purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 12500 Roscoe Boulevard in Sun Valley, narrowly missed the Powerball number three. It matched five of the six numbers drawn on March 23: 6, 23, 25, 34, and 51.

After the draw date, lottery winners have 180 days to claim their winnings.

The rewards will, as usual, be donated to California’s public schools if the tickets are not claimed. According to lottery authorities, since ticket sales started in 1985, the state’s public education system has received contributions totaling more than $1.1 billion in unclaimed prize money.
