A woman from South Florida is inconsolable since her dog got blind in one eye after visiting a grooming salon in Miami Gardens a month ago. However, the proprietor of the salon asserts that the dog’s sister was the one who caused the injury.
During the week of January 7, Ashley Murray brought her two dogs, Rambo and Buddy, to Doggies Gone Wild to have them groomed.
When she went back to pick them up, she was informed that Rambo, who was only three years old at the time, had assaulted his younger brother.
“They brought Buddy back out and put him on the table and showed us his eye and I started crying because, sorry, his eye was really bad, it was red and bulging out, it was like a growth on his eye and he could barely open it,” Murray stated.
Murray stated that she rushed Buddy to an emergency veterinarian emergency room that evening. The veterinarians there determined that Buddy had a punctured cornea, which may have been caused by a dog bite.
The episcleritis that Buddy was suffering from caused his right eye to get smaller, as discovered by her personal veterinarian two days later. Subsequently, a veterinary eye specialist confirmed that the patient was blind as a result of corneal perforation.
The groomer’s explanation continues to be met with skepticism from Murray.

“Rambo couldn’t have done this, it just doesn’t sound believable,” she stated.
She expressed her concern regarding the absence of video evidence demonstrating the alleged assault.
“So there’s no footage of the incident, so I said well then how do you know what really happened then because now this is all here say, like I have no choice but to believe you that Rambo attacked Buddy and I just don’t believe that, so now I think this is all a lie and a cover-up,” Murray stated.
Doggies Gone Wild manager Sandra Martinez refuted the notion that a groomer accidently hurt Buddy.
“Is there any possibility that maybe a groomer with scissors or razor? No, no, no, no. Not possible the eye could have been nicked? We would have seen the blood when it happened,” Martinez stated.
Murray was shown security footage by Marco Ramirez, the owner of the firm.
Although it did not show what transpired in the holding area where the dogs awaited pickup, the camera evidence verified Buddy was unharmed during grooming.

“They came and they wanted to see the footage, we showed them the footage, but they were not happy enough because there was not footage inside the room,” Ramirez stated.
Additionally, Ramirez posted a picture of Buddy’s face following grooming, which showed no obvious eye damage.
Murray has been informed by veterinarians that Buddy’s wounded eye will probably degenerate and perhaps require removal.
“He said he has blindness in his eye. He said that he’s only 2 years old so he can still live a healthy life um you know just with one eye,” Murray stated. “But it’s probably, you know he doesn’t want to tell us what to do but if it was him in the situation, he would maybe remove the eye so that he could be comfortable and not in pain.”
Following the interview, Ramirez claimed that Murray stopped communicating with him and launched a small claims lawsuit, despite his offer to examine her veterinary bills in order to submit an insurance claim.
