South Miami Father Reports Missing 3-Year-Old, Blames Child's Mother

The father of a 3-year-old daughter who was reported missing in South Miami has acknowledged that her mother took the child. Police are still searching for the toddler.

Shea Eminhizer was last seen on Monday off of Southwest 78th Terrace, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

A dispatcher overheard saying over the radio, “South Miami P.D. is requesting a [‘be on the lookout’] reference a Florida Missing Child Alert. She’s 3 feet tall, 40 pounds, has blond hair and brown eyes.”

According to police, the toddler is with Christine Betancourt, 41.

A dispatcher overheard saying over the radio, “BOLO for a 3-year-old and a white Latin female. She’s 5-[foot]-5, black hair and brown eyes.”

The infant girl’s mother, Betancourt, and her father reside on Southwest 78th Street, according to neighbors who wished to remain anonymous.

The two, according to police, may be traveling around in a gray 2021 Volvo XC 90 with the Florida tag IEX419 and extremely dark window tinting. There’s a really dark window tint on the SUV as well.

In radio communications, a dispatcher stated, “The subject should be considered armed and dangerous.”

Instead of approaching the two, authorities advise anybody who sees them to call 911, 305-663-6301 of South Miami Police, or FDLE’s Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 1-888-FL MISSING (1-888-356-4774).
