The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) announced on Sunday night that they are currently investigating a double homicide following a shooting that took place just before 6 p.m. at the Mission Hills Apartments, located at 2425 Mission Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two adult females deceased. Through preliminary findings, the detectives were able to identify a suspect in the case.
Subsequently, officers in another county located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to perform a traffic stop. However, the suspect died before an arrest could be made.
The Tallahassee Police Department has confirmed that the man who apparently took his own life during an encounter with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office on Interstate 75 in Alachua County on Sunday is connected to the earlier double homicide in Tallahassee.
If anyone has any information related to the incident, they are urged to contact TPD at 850-891-4200 or provide anonymous tips by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
