Locals are raving about the new food store, Publix, which just opened in The Shops at Bannerman Village.
People went on Facebook groups to talk about how excited they were about the new store opening at 8462 Bannerman Blvd. The place has a drive-through drugstore and a place to eat on the second floor.
The 48,387-square-foot store has a drive-through pharmacy and departments for groceries, dairy, frozen foods, seafood, meats, and fresh vegetables.
Hannah Herring, the manager of media relations for Publix, said in a press release, “We are excited to bring another Publix store to Tallahassee.”
“We’re looking forward to serving both new and old customers with top-notch service and high-quality goods.”
Scottisha Whitten, a happy shopper, and member of Tallahassee Foodies on Facebook, took videos and pictures of her shopping trip at the early morning big opening for those who couldn’t make it.
Whitten wrote in her description, “You can tell that a lot of thought went into building the store. I wish I lived right next door. Every day, I would be there.”
Local talk show host Greg Tish posted his pictures of the site on the Living Tallahassee Facebook page and told the group, “Drove around the new Publix today.
Two buildings, not just one. A drugstore with a drive-through and a liquor store. My bubble is going to pop soon.”
The store is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. The pharmacy is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
