Tally Cat Cafe Celebrates Half a Decade of Connecting Cats With Forever Families

A neighborhood cat lounge is throwing a party to celebrate the adoption of some of their feline pals into new homes.

Tally Cat Cafe first opened its doors on a Sunday five years ago.

Coffee and wine are served here, and the establishment also acts as a foster home for homeless cats looking for new homes.

In the cat lounge, visitors get the opportunity to interact and play with 15 cats that are available for adoption from the Leon County Humane Society.

Since they first opened their doors, they have been able to find ‘forever homes for approximately 1,500 cats.

Katie Stryker is one of the owners of Tally Cat Cafe, and although she acknowledges that much has changed over the years, she is pleased with the atmosphere that they have cultivated together.

I have the impression that we were successful in accomplishing all of our objectives. “We wanted something that was really nice for everyone and a place where everyone felt it was safe to gather and hang out, find a new best friend, or even just relax,” Stryker said. “We had lofty goals.”

Additionally, the annual number of cats that the Leon County Humane Society has been able to save has been increased by the Tally Cat Cafe by a factor of two.

The cafe is holding a drive to collect donations for the local humane society, and the organization is searching for food, toys, and wipes.

Anyone who makes a donation is eligible to receive free products from the cat cafe.
