The Walton County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 13-year-old boy was seen driving on a Florida highway on Thursday morning while carrying a loaded revolver.
Around two in the morning on Thursday, deputies said they saw the teenager driving erratically down Highway 98 near County Highway 393 North in Santa Rosa Beach.
The driver allegedly took off and crashed into a big barrel close to a construction site. When the SUV finally came to a stop, a deputy discovered that the driver was 13 years old.
Upon searching the SUV, deputies discovered a vape pen, a marijuana pipe, and a fully loaded 38 special revolver.
When Walton County officers pulled over the teenager, they explained that their jail booking system was down, but they nonetheless gave him a criminal citation for operating a vehicle without a license.
Additionally, deputies stated that they requested a warrant for the youngster due to allegations of a minor in possession of a firearm.
The sheriff’s office stated that the teenager was put on distant learning as they awaited a potential arrest.
