The 27-year-old TikTok celebrity Rachel Yaffe passed away from a rare kind of liver cancer. According to her obituary, Yaffe died on October 11 and was survived by her sister, brother, and parents.
After receiving a fibrolamellar carcinoma cancer diagnosis at the age of 20, the TikToker gained over 55,000 followers by sharing updates on her health experience.
Many individuals commented on Yaffe’s online remembrance book after learning of her passing.
“Fond memories of her on the SPSG field hockey and lacrosse field. She was a star and a gift,” one stated.

What did Yaffe say about being diagnosed with liver cancer?
In 2023, Yaffe shared additional information regarding her diagnosis in a TikTok video, remembering how everyone at first thought her symptoms were due to “anxiety.”
However, she immediately had an ultrasound and saw a liver expert, who informed her that she had a 20-centimeter tumor on her liver that was causing shoulder pain and obstructing the blood supply to her calves. Yaffe discovered after having a biopsy that her tumor was a “super rare adolescent liver cancer.”

Yaffe has been sharing her cancer journey’s highs and lows with her fans for the past few years. She disclosed that she had just began chemotherapy treatments in January 2024.
Yaffe had a tumor in her left lung that was pressing against her heart a few months later. She received radiation therapy and a treatment to treat the tumor after it started to bleed. She thus struggled to move and walk.
