Donovan Faison, aged 21, has been arrested by Florida police for allegedly fatally shooting his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Kaylin Fiengo, as she declined to undergo an abortion.
On November 11, 2022, Sanford police officers were conducting patrols in Coastline Park, located approximately 25 miles north of Orlando, when they noticed a vehicle backed into a parking spot.
A subsequent press release stated that inside the vehicle, 18-year-old Kaylin Fiengo was discovered in the driver’s seat, having succumbed to a gunshot wound.
Authorities later confirmed that Fiengo was pregnant and had just completed her first trimester.
Over the course of a 10-month investigation, detectives uncovered that Fiengo had gone to the park to meet Donovan Faison, the 21-year-old father of her unborn child.
Police revealed that the two had engaged in multiple disputes regarding the pregnancy.
As stated in the press release, “Investigators believe that Faison wanted Kaylin to terminate the pregnancy and Kaylin’s refusal to do so was the probable motive for the homicide.”
The inquiry, according to Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith, was “exhaustive.”
Smith stated that “Our investigators have made sure every possible shred of evidence was processed and analyzed in order to bring Kaylin’s killer to justice. This beautiful, young woman and mother, was taken from this world far too soon, and in a horrific way.”
