According to police and law enforcement officials, a 55-year-old man from Westchester County was fatally stabbed early on Monday morning inside a posh nightclub in Queens following a fight with the suspect.
Around 2:20 a.m., Percy Forrest, a resident of Port Chester, was stabbed in the chest at Agenda Restaurant and Lounge in Astoria. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and later declared dead, according to authorities.
According to reports, the alleged criminal attacked Forrest after drawing a knife during a fight between the victim and suspect.
After that, the suspect left the area on foot. According to sources, a person of interest was arrested close to the nightclub.
As of Monday night, police had not made any charges in the case public.
Whether the victim and suspect were club employees or patrons was not immediately clear.
The crime site was taped off by police on Monday, and the agenda was closed.
āItās pretty tragic. Look, this is not a bad neighborhood,ā said Ramo Besi, who owns Mela Pizza, which is across the street.
An employee at a neighboring convenience shop expressed that the deadly violence did not surprise him. During peak hours, he claimed, the scene may get “hectic.”
āI knew something was going to happen with that club, too,ā Bander, 47, told The Post. āYou know, the valet parking is outside. Thereās a lot of shit going on. Bad crowds.ā
When contacted by phone on Monday, a staff member at the upscale loungeādubbed a Latin cuisine restaurantārefused to respond.
