Woman Charged with Murder in Hollywood Hit-and-Run

A woman was taken into custody this week by the Hollywood police, as she is accused of deliberately hitting a man with the SUV she was driving and then fleeing the scene.

On Friday, the police revealed that Nadeline Massenat, aged 24, has been arrested for the crime, which resulted in the man’s death three months ago. Massenat has been charged with first-degree murder.

The victim, Luis Ortiz, aged 36, was discovered unconscious on the ground in the 5800 block of Thomas Street in the early hours of March 14. Hollywood paramedics rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where he eventually passed away.

Upon investigation, the police determined that Ortiz and Massenet were acquainted. They had been in contact the night before the incident, and Ortiz had requested Massenat to pick him up from the Seminole Hard Rock, as reported by the police.

Surveillance footage captured Massenat driving slowly next to Ortiz, and the audio recorded them engaging in an argument about money. The police state that the footage shows Massenet intentionally striking Ortiz with the SUV, which was an older model Honda CRV, and dragging him for a distance of 500 feet.

According to the police, Massenat resides with her mother in Miramar, but she was apprehended at a residence on Fletcher Street in Hollywood on Wednesday, June 14.

Massenet is currently being held without bond at the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach.
