PALM CITY, Fla. — The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported that a 27-year-old man named Dijon Tyquan Valcin, hailing from Hialeah, was engaged in a spree of thefts across various counties.
After his latest theft in Palm City, Valcin attempted to evade capture by leading deputies on a chase into St. Lucie County.
Unfamiliar with the roads, he ended up returning to Martin County, where law enforcement was waiting for him.
During the pursuit, Valcin crashed his Mercedes and proceeded to flee on foot.
However, the MCSO’s helicopter closely tracked his movements, swiftly ending the foot chase.
Photos released by the sheriff’s office depicted the backseat of the car filled with stolen merchandise.
Valcin was subsequently arrested and faced several charges, including fleeing from law enforcement, leaving the scene without providing information, driving with a suspended license, and grand theft.
