In front of frightened onlookers at a golf course, a Florida man is accused of randomly attacking a golfer by repeatedly hitting him with the victim’s golf clubs and holding his head underwater in a pond, killing him.
According to investigators, Junior Boucher, 36, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 65-year-old Brian Hiltebeitel.
According to an arrest complaint, the violence took place at West Palm Beach’s Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
The murder took place on Monday. Multiple 911 complaints about a man using a golf club to attack another man at the Sandhill Crane Golf Club, located at 11401 Northlake Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens, were answered by police around 1:22 p.m., according to authorities.
As the defendant, who was apparently naked, fled, officers discovered Hiltebeitel, whose name is spelled “Hiltebritel” in the arrest record, dead close to a pond. According to court documents, he was repeatedly ordered to stop before being stunned by an electronic device and brought into prison.
According to court documents, a witness who was playing golf nearby reported to police that a guy was screaming and running away from another man—later identified as Boucher—who was swinging a golf club in Hiltebeitel’s direction.
“The witness stated that Hiltebeitel was yelling ‘he’s trying to kill me’ multiple times,” according to the documents.
According to court documents, Boucher started repeatedly striking the victim with the golf club after both men collapsed to the ground. Boucher allegedly grabbed another golf club after the two parted ways and then pursued Hiltebeitel in the direction of the pond.
According to court documents, Boucher repeatedly struck Hiltebeitel in the head with the golf club until they were in the pond. Boucher allegedly pounced on top of Hiltebeitel while he was in the water, seemingly choking him.
Then, according to the documents, the witness told police that Boucher removed himself from Hiltebeitel, who was still, took out a golf club, and repeatedly hit him in the head.
The observer stated After that, Boucher exited the water, undressed, and started to leave.
According to court filings, the victim suffered many serious cuts to the back of his head and torso when officers hauled him out of the water in an attempt to save his life. He was pronounced dead at the site.
After being transported to the hospital, Boucher was arrested. Court filings state that he declared he wanted a lawyer as soon as he arrived at the hospital.

According to Palm Beach Gardens Police Chief Dominick Pape, who spoke at a press conference, Boucher’s family had reported him missing to the police an hour prior to the attack, and it seems that he had no justifiable reason for being at the golf course.
According to Pape, Boucher has a criminal record that includes charges for domestic abuse, narcotics possession, and evading and resisting arrest, which was a charge from 2022.
“This appears to be a random act of violence where Boucher used the victim’s golf clubs as weapons and viciously attacked the victim, ultimately killing him,” Pape stated.
