Breaking News Toy Gun Causes Panic at Broward County High School!

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – Wednesday morning, a Broward County high school had a scare that turned out to be caused by a fake gun.

Claudinne Caro, a spokeswoman for the Broward Sheriff’s Office, said that deputies went to Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes around 7:45 a.m. after getting a tip that someone with a gun was on campus.

She said that BSO district officers and the Threat Management Unit went to the school at 3050 NW 41st St. and started checking the live camera feeds and setting up a perimeter right away.

Caro said that Boyd Anderson and three other schools were locked down.

Caro says that police found out that a student saw another student with what looked like a gun.

A short time later, deputies found the student in question and found that the item was just a toy gun.

The lockdowns are no longer in place.

It’s not clear what will happen to the kid who is accused of bringing the toy gun to school.
