DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A driver died in Delray Beach when they lost control of their car and hit a Volvo.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says that Virgilita Jackson, who was 40 years old, lost control of her 2009 Hyundai Elantra while heading east on Lake Ida Road at 6:05 p.m. on April 12. It was raining at the time.
The Elantra lost its grip on the road, which made the car spin counterclockwise into the westbound lanes. Her car hit a 2018 Volvo XC60 going west, and the Volvo’s front end hit the right side of Jackson’s Elantra.
Jackson was found dead at the scene, and the driver and passenger of the Volvo were hurt only slightly.
