TAMPA, Fla. — A new video from a security camera shows the moment Thursday morning when a worker at a nursing home in Tampa shot a fellow after a fight.
Felicia Johnson McGee, 46, of Temple Terrace, worked at The Bristol at Tampa Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at 1818 E. Fletcher Avenue. She was arrested after police said she shot another employee during a fight outside the building.
Deputies said that McGee and the other worker, who had been there for less than two months, took their fight outside when it got physical.
Deputies said that during the fight, McGee took a gun out of her uniform and shot her friend in the arm. The third person in the film, who was not named, was McGee’s daughter, deputies said.
The coworker, a guy in his mid-20s, was rushed to Tampa General Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. He was later set free, and now he is at home getting better.
Sheriff Chad Chronister said, “It makes me sad to hear about this unjustified violence.” “Not only is this against the law, but it also goes against our most basic human ideals. My heart goes out to the person who was hurt, the people who work at Bristol, and the families with loved ones there.”
McGee was charged with trying to kill someone in the second degree and hurting someone very badly. She was being kept at the Orient Road Jail.
