The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported the capture of the suspect who was suspected of killing a man and a woman in two different instances and escaping from deputies in Tampa on Saturday.

A dead corpse was discovered on Tampa’s 4800 block of Alvarado Drive just after 2:00 p.m., prompting the sheriff’s office to respond.

The mother of a 5-year-old, Lianet Santos Sosa, 31, was discovered injured in her upper body by deputies when they arrived. At the scene, her status was declared deceased.

Officers discovered during the course of the inquiry that Silvio Ramon Franco Peralta, 35, was the suspect who drove the woman’s car away.

After that, Franco Peralta went into the City of Tampa, where he confronted a man at 8710 North Packwood Avenue. According to deputies, the fight got more physical, and Franco Peralta killed the man as a result.

The suspect was located by deputies shortly after they issued an alert for the car, according to HCSO. After a short foot pursuit, Franco Peralta was apprehended after attempting to escape the area.

“It is devastating to know that a 5-year-old child will grow up without their mother because of the senseless violence of this evil man. His complete disregard for human life has forever altered the lives of two families,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated. “I am proud of our deputies for their swift actions. They used their training to stop this dangerous man from causing any more harm to our community and have ensured that these families will get the justice they deserve.”

In addition to grand theft of a motor vehicle, armed burglary of a dwelling with an assault or battery, aggravated fleeing to elude, driving with a canceled, suspended, or revoked license, and resisting an officer without using force are among the charges Franco Peralta is facing.

It’s possible that the Tampa Police Department will file further charges. The probe is still going on.
