After months of seclusion, former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley recently broke her silence and announced her support for former President Donald Trump in a public statement.
When questioned about her remarks, Trump responded, “I appreciated what she said,” following his rally on Thursday.
Trump went on to say that Haley might fit in on his “team” and referred to her as a “capable person.”
The reporter said, “Is there room for her on your team or, better yet, your ticket?”
“Well, I think she’s gonna be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts,” Trump stated.
“You know, we had a nasty campaign; it was pretty nasty. But she’s a very capable person, and I’m sure she’s going to be on our team in some form. Absolutely.”
His remarks are a change from his typical campaign-trail rhetoric, in which he frequently called Haley a “birdbrain” and disparaged her IQ.

During the GOP primary, he devoted months of attention to Haley, intensifying his criticism of her as she persisted in running while other contenders withdrew.
Haley stated that even while she is disappointed with Trump, she still believes he is a superior candidate than Biden on Wednesday at her first public speech since withdrawing from the presidential race.
“Trump has not been perfect on these policies. I’ve made that clear many, many times. But Biden has been a catastrophe. So I will be voting for Trump,” Haley stated at the Hudson Institute in Washington.
Trump shot down the notion that Haley would be his running mate earlier this month, saying on social media, “Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!” in response to a rumor that the Trump campaign was exploring Haley for the vice presidential position.
