TAMPA, FL – After an incident on Monday afternoon in Tampa involving an alleged robbery of a United States Postal Service letter carrier, the United States Postal Inspection Service is currently looking for the suspect.
At around 12:13 p.m., the mail carrier at the Whittier Shopping Center, which can be found at 5101 E. Busch Blvd., was reportedly the victim of a robbery.
The United States Postal Inspection Service stated on Thursday in a press statement that the suspect was spotted exiting the area in a white U-Haul cargo van with an Arizona license plate that began with the letter “AL.”
The suspect was thought to be a Black man between the ages of 25 and 35, according to the authorities. He stands at a height of about 6 feet, has a weight of around 250 pounds, and has short, black hair along with a beard.
The person suspected of committing the crime was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts, camouflage Crocs, and black socks.
The inspection service has announced that a reward of up to fifty thousand dollars is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator.
