Woman Hit by Car in West Palm Beach Succumbs to Injuries

WEST PALM BEACH — According to the police, a woman pedestrian who was hit by a car on Tuesday night passed away from her injuries on Friday afternoon.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators have been unable to identify the woman. She was described as a white female between the ages of 50 and 65.

The incident took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 813 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach. An eyewitness reported that the woman was crossing the road from east to west.

At that time, a 53-year-old woman from Lantana was driving a 2006 Toyota Sienna southbound on North Military Trail, approaching the 800 block. According to the sheriff’s investigators, a witness saw the unidentified woman walking directly into oncoming traffic and being struck by the Sienna.

The impact caused the woman to be thrown into the air, and she landed in the southbound lanes of Military Trail. The driver of the Sienna stopped immediately, and emergency responders transported the critically injured pedestrian to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The driver of the Sienna did not sustain any injuries, as reported by the deputies.

The unidentified woman succumbed to her injuries on Friday afternoon at the hospital, according to the sheriff’s report.
