A Greenacres man, 34, was shot and killed by a West Palm Beach woman, 28. She was found guilty of manslaughter and given 18 years in prison.
Sharnika Lashay Moore-Bryant was charged with second-degree murder for killing Roobens Louis at his home on May 26, 2019, but on February 15, the jury lowered the charge.
At the Palm Beach County Courthouse, Circuit Court Judge Daliah Weiss gave her her sentence.
His lawyers made a claim.
Moore-Bryant was found and arrested in Orlando five days after the murder.
Nelson Succes says that when he got home from work at 6 p.m., he found his cousin died in their house in the 3800 block of South 57th Avenue.
The arrest report says that Moore-Bryant, who was described as Louis’s love interest, went to his home on 57th Avenue at 9 a.m. and left at 12:15 p.m.
She told the police that nothing strange had happened.
During her interview with the police, she had “obvious injuries that were consistent with a violent fight.”
