Breaking News Police Crack Down on Commercial Vehicle Violations!

Palm Beach County, FL. – Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol checked industrial vehicles on U.S. 27 in northwest Palm Beach County, including South Bay. They were trying to stop accidents and violations.

In a news release on Thursday, PBSO spokesman Teri Barbera said, “The goal of the operation was to cut down on accidents, enforce unsecured load violations, enforce illegal speeds, and do safety checks.”

During the time of police, 35 business vehicles were checked.

There were problems with 91 vehicles: eight state citations, one speeding ticket (92 mph in a 55 mph zone), five speeding tickets that had nothing to do with commercial vehicles, two non-moving tickets, 10 out-of-service vehicles, one out-of-service driver, 21 written warnings, and nine Uniform Commercial Code violations that cost a total of $1,580.

On March 5, a crash between a car and a semi-truck in the 7000 block of U.S. 27 sent six people to the hospital.

On March 29, a tractor-trailer truck jackknifed and crashed into a dump truck about 5 miles south of South Bay. One man died and another was hurt.
