Cheers to Life: Special Beer Created for Baby Born in Michigan Microbrewery Parking Lot

Cheers to Life Special Beer Created for Baby Born in Microbrewery Parking Lot

His parents’ favorite microbrewery in Michigan named a baby born in its parking lot after the baby was born, and the company made a special beer to celebrate the infant.

On the day the baby was due, Aaron and Kyle Baker were traveling from Vicksburg to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo when they became aware that they would not arrive in time.

Forrest Wells Baker was born just moments after they pulled into One Well Brewing’s parking lot, their favorite microbrewery, and called for an ambulance.

“We’ve been joking that Forrest just wanted to swing by for a quick beer on the way to the hospital, just like his dad would,” Kyle Baker stated to MLive. “When people first heard, everybody thought we were just sitting in here having a beer when I went into labor.”

One Well Brewing created a blood orange blonde lager to commemorate the birth of infant Forrest Wells, and his parents were asked to assist in mixing it.

Later this month, the beer, appropriately dubbed Special Delivery, is scheduled to be poured.

Chris O’Neill, owner of One Well, made a joke about how baby Forrest Wells might get “free beer for life” if he is born, even though it will be another 21 years before he can drink a pint.

“The One Well Promise, have a baby in the parking lot, the baby gets free beer for life,” he stated.
