Child Struck by Car on Blair Stone Road Passes Away

The Tallahassee Police Department is dealing with a traffic accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 2700 block of Blair Stone Road.

On Facebook, TPD stated that, “sadly, the pedestrian involved has died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. All lanes of travel have been reopened. This remains an open and active investigation and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”

According to the TPD, the victim was a child who had just turned 13 years old and was in the process of crossing the street with his mother and his brothers when the collision occurred.

The TPD has also confirmed that the collision took place at approximately 7:10 a.m.

According to the information provided by the TPD, the car involved in the collision remained at the scene of the accident, and no one has been arrested.

The pedestrian, a young boy, was seriously hurt and has been transported to a nearby hospital for care.

The southbound lanes on Blair Stone Road at Old St. Augustine Road will stay shut while the investigation is ongoing. Drivers are advised to steer clear of the area.
