Cyclist Fatally Injured in Crash on East Tennessee Street

Accidental death came early Saturday morning for a cyclist who was involved in a collision in the central business district of Tallahassee.

Just before 6:30 in the morning on Saturday, the Tallahassee Police Department announced on social media that it was responding to a crash in the 200 block of East Tennessee Street. In the vicinity of Magnolia Drive and Hillcrest Street on Tennessee Street, both the eastbound and westbound lanes were closed for a period of several hours.

At 1:18 p.m., the Toronto Police Department (TPD) gave an update in which they stated that the incident involved a vehicle and a bicyclist “who succumbed to their injuries.”

There were no other information immediately available; however, the Toronto Police Department (TPD) canceled a missing persons report for a “missing juvenile runaway” an hour later, noting that “unfortunately, he was located deceased this morning.”

When contacted on Saturday afternoon, a city representative stated that there were no further details available on either incident and that they would not comment on whether or not the two instances were related.
