Woodland Hills police are still looking for the person who shot and killed the well-liked neighborhood doctor on Friday night.
Hamid Mirshojae, 61, a physician employed at the Warner Plaza Medical Center, which is situated at the intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Oxnard Street, was identified as the victim.
Around 5:34 p.m., while he was making his way to his car, he was approached by an unidentified suspect who opened fire on him multiple times, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
In the parking lot, witnesses noticed a body on the ground and heard gunshots. Paramedics declared Mirshojae dead at the site.
The suspect, according to the authorities, ran off in an unidentified direction; a description was not immediately available.
Mirshojae’s patients characterized him as a kind individual who enjoyed lending a hand to others.
The victim’s family friend Maryem Alaei stated, “Everyone in the Woodland Hills area, even in L.A., they know him because he was a really good doctor. Always laughing, always joking, always helping people.”
Alaei claimed that the loss of the adored doctor has left her and others shocked and devastated.
“Every day he’s at work, around 4 to 5 a.m. he goes to this ER center and he’s just helping people and he comes back at night and last night, somebody was waiting for him here,” Alaei stated.
According to Alaei, the victim’s wife and their 6-month-old child are currently in Turkey visiting relatives who live abroad. She is currently on an early flight back to the United States.
Former patient Pamia Mazahrei remarked, “I don’t know why bad things happen to people who are good in this world.They need to change the system, like how they handle laws with guns. Enough is enough.”
On Saturday night, friends, family, and patients erected a growing monument outside the clinic, leaving candles and flowers as a way to remember Mirshojae.

It is still unclear why the fatal gunshot occurred.
