TAMPA, Fla. — A man from Florida who is 59 years old won $1 million playing the 500X the Cash scratch-off game.
The Florida Lottery says that Alexander Osceola, 59, of Ochopee, claimed his $1 million win at the Miami District Office of the Florida Lottery. Osceola decided to get all of his money at once, in a lump sum of $820,000.
There was a 1 in 267,739 chance that Osceola would win the second-place prize. One in 21,419,145 people will win the top prize of $25 million. There is only one top-prize ticket left to be won.
Osceola got his winning ticket at Publix, which is in Miami at 13820 Southwest 88th Street. The store that sold the winning ticket will get a bonus fee of $2,000.
The $50 game has the biggest prize ever offered on a scratch-off game in Florida, and the best chances of making you a millionaire right away, according to the Florida lottery. The chances of winning the game as a whole are 1 in 4.50.
