Kurt Peterson and his son Seth enjoyed the weather Tuesday by standing on Lake Worth Beach.
Kurt Peterson said, “It’s kind of fun to see.”
He went through Minnesota and North Carolina on his way to the Sunshine State to see him.
Seth said he wanted to go to the beach with his dad.
“Pretty cool, it’s pretty cool. We didn’t plan to spend a lot of time at the beach, so it’s cool to see the ocean be so strong, he said.
It’s too easy to say that it’s windy outside. First Alert Meteorologist James Wieland says that the winds have been getting stronger since Monday. At Palm Beach International Airport and the pier at Lake Worth Beach, wind gusts have been between 36 and 37 mph. We don’t think the wind will stop until Thursday.
The day has slowed to a crawl at Kilwins Chocolates. Wayne Pyers, the owner, says that the weather is to blame.
“Usually, there would be a line out the door at this time of day, but today there are only a few families coming in,” he said.
Not everyone is going through hard times because of the weather. At Benny’s on the Beach in Lake Worth Beach, a group of people were having a great time.
“There’s a bit of wind, but it’s not too hot. One woman said, “It’s not cold, and there’s a nice breeze.”
What about the ocean waves? Nixon Frye just couldn’t stop himself from wanting to surf.
He said, “It’s low tide and there are a lot of rocks out, but it looks like fun.”
