She believes that Governor Ron DeSantis will make an effort to suspend her on Monday, according to the Orange-Osceola State Attorney.
A Republican committeewoman reportedly reached out to someone in the office of the state attorney, Monique Worrell, asking for information on at least two different instances of human trafficking.
The committeewoman in question said that the office did not successfully pursue the cases to provide victims of human trafficking with justice.
The office of the state attorney has expressed its belief that the material was sought to prepare for a news conference with the governor, during which they think the governor intends to suspend her.
Worrell and DeSantis have been engaged in a conflict for some time now. The governor has given Worrell the label of being “soft on crime.”
Channel 9 attempted to get a statement from the governor’s office, but they declined to provide one.
