Gun Violence Strikes Maryland High School Football Game One Dead, One Injured

After opening fire during a high school football game in Maryland on Saturday morning, which left a guy in the bleachers dead and a child injured, police are still looking for the culprit who fled the scene.

In a statement released on X, the previous Twitter platform, Prince George’s County Police stated that the incident happened outside Potomac High School in Oxon Hill at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The unidentified adult man was discovered by officers “suffering from a gunshot wound(s)”; he was taken to the hospital and eventually declared deceased, according to the PGCPD.

Investigators said that a 5-year-old child was also hurt in the incident.

“In a statement, the PGCPD stated that the child was transported to the hospital due to non-life-threatening injuries.”

The non-profit fundraiser was not sponsored by the school, and according to the police, the altercation that led to the shooting occurred during the event.

The inquiry is still ongoing. Inquiries on the event were directed to 1-866-411-TIPS by the investigators.
