In October alone, 25 child predators were expelled by Houston immigration agents. This included repeat sex offenders who had been previously deported and had subsequently re-entered the country.
ICE deported two known gang members and one Mexican national who had been deported twice before, each time for a sex offense involving a juvenile, among the undocumented pedophiles.
“The 25 noncitizens that ERO Houston removed last month illegally entered the country and then proceeded to prey on the innocence and vulnerability of our children,” said Bret Bradford, director of the Houston branch of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Office (ERO).
As per US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they were all “convicted of at least one child sex offense while in the country illegally.”
The Houston ERO agency of ICE is responsible for 52 counties in southwestern Texas.
A Mexican national and member of the Paisas prison gang, who had a history of “criminal convictions for committing lewd acts against a child,” were among the sicko local deportees, according to the agency.
An additional booted Mexican was a member of the Colonia Durango gang who had been convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and sexual immorality with a child, in addition to two prior charges of larceny.
In addition to his sex offenses, a Salvadorian deportee had been convicted of assaulting a government official.
An additional Salvadorian had been arrested for “installing an imaging device for sexual arousal in a manner that would cause injury to a child under the age of 17.”
One Mexican national was deported for the third time in a row by the agency. The following were included in his criminal record: cocaine trafficking, two drunk driving convictions, assault, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and sexual indecency with a minor.
The agency reported that over half of the nearly 13,500 illegal migrants deported by ERO Houston in the 2023 fiscal year had prior or pending criminal convictions.
Unaccompanied child migrants are crossing the border in record numbers, and migrant predators frequently prey on them.
In the 2023 fiscal year, US Customs and Border Protection encountered over 130,000 unaccompanied adolescents, who are at a high risk of “pregnancy, sexual and physical assault, and sexually transmitted infections,” according to a study published in the American Journal of Public Health.
The Department of Homeland Security identified and/or assisted over 2,600 victims of child exploitation and made over 6,100 arrests for child sex offenses between October 2022 and April.
