Jacksonville Gas Station Shooting: 55-Year-Old Man Wounded in Altercation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A RaceTrac gas station on New Kings Road in Jacksonville witnessed a shooting incident involving a 55-year-old man on Saturday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) reported that around 7:55 p.m., officers arrived at the gas station’s location, 9980 New Kings Road, and discovered the injured man. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg/hip area from a shotgun.

The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was promptly transported to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening. JSO indicated that they suspect the assailant to be the victim’s 34-year-old son.

Currently, JSO detectives are actively pursuing the suspect. Their efforts include interviewing witnesses, analyzing surveillance footage, and preserving physical evidence.
