On Friday morning, a man was shot during a confrontation over a gun, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The altercation unfolded at a residence in the 14800 block of Bell Estates Road, north of Yellow Water Road and Normandy Boulevard. The dispute arose between two men, one in his mid-50s and the other in his late 30s, who were contending over a woman.

Amidst a physical struggle, the firearm discharged, resulting in the man in his 50s sustaining a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was promptly transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, according to the police.
