The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has initiated an inquiry after a disagreement resulted in a shooting incident in the Arlington area near 7200 Merrill Rd. on Monday night.
As per JSO, the event transpired around 7:15 p.m. on Monday when officers were summoned to the location in response to reports of a person being shot. Upon their arrival, law enforcement identified an adult male who had suffered a minor wound to the leg.
Preliminary accounts suggest that the victim was crossing Merrill Rd. when a confrontation developed between him and an individual in an unidentified vehicle.
After a while, the suspect purportedly left the vehicle a short distance from the initial altercation and fired several gunshots at the victim.
After the shooting, the suspect swiftly departed from the scene. There is currently no available description of the suspect.
The wounded victim received immediate medical attention for the minor gunshot wound to his leg and was subsequently discharged.
