Pfizer, a pharmaceutical corporation, was sued by the state of Kansas on Monday. The lawsuit says that Pfizer made “misleading claims” regarding the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Attorney General Kris Kobach (R) of Kansas filed the lawsuit in the District Court of Thomas County, claiming that Pfizer concealed information linking the COVID-19 shot to pregnancy problems and deceived citizens of Kansas about the shot’s hazards.

Additionally, the case claimed that Pfizer misled locals by claiming that their vaccination was effective even though it “knew” the injection faded with time and did not protect against COVID-19 variations.

In a statement, Kobach said, “Pfizer made multiple misleading statements to deceive the public about its vaccine at a time when Americans needed the truth.”

The lawsuit claimed that Pfizer had violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act with its comments and wording regarding the COVID-19 vaccination. The state is requesting an amount of money in damages.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration updated the COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna in June 2021 with a warning about myocarditis and pericarditis, two uncommon cardiac inflammatory disorders.

The National Institutes of Health reviewed a number of COVID-19 vaccine studies last year and found no proof that the doses raise the risk of miscarriage.

According to Kobach’s office on Monday, the pharmaceutical corporation is also charged with conspiring with social media personnel to “censor speech critical” of the COVID-19 vaccines and tried to evade government inspection.

We are proud to have developed the COVID-19 vaccine in record time in the midst of a global pandemic and saved countless lives. The representations made by Pfizer about its COVID-19 vaccine have been accurate and science-based,” the company stated, continuing “Patient safety is our number one priority, which is why we follow diligent safety and monitoring protocols.”

Kobach’s lawsuit comes after a complaint filed last autumn by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who also charges Pfizer of making false claims about the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Paxton said that Pfizer misled people into believing that its vaccine would stop the COVID-19 pandemic and that its 95% efficacy rate was a lie.

According to federal records, Pfizer’s first coronavirus vaccination was provided in excess of 366 million doses in the United States. The first COVID-19 vaccine from the business proved to be 95% effective against the virus 28 days after the first dose, according to an efficacy analysis published in November 2020.

Similar to Kobach, Paxton charged that the business was using social media to “silence prominent truth-tellers” and “intimidate” them. One such person is former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, who is a member of Pfizer’s board of directors and was a vocal opponent of the pandemic’s vaccination policies.
