Lake Worth Beach Murder Case: Justice Finally Served After 6 Years!

Lake Worth Beach Murder Case Justice Finally Served After 6 Years!

A guy from Lake Worth Beach was given a 25-year jail term on Monday for the second-degree murder he committed in 2017 when he was 17 and almost an adult.

Natividad Umanzor Yanyes, who is now 23 years old, pleaded guilty to murder and robbery with a gun. Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Gillen then gave her a punishment. As part of the deal, the two terms will be served at the same time.

When the offender was sentenced, there was no minimum term because he did not have a gun when he broke the law.

He was first charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of Lucio Velasquez-Morales, 33, on October 30, 2017.

In 2017, the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office said that Velasquez-Morales, 33, and Octavio Sanches-Morales, 25, were killed by six MS-13 gang members on November 5.

Victor Manuel Fuentes, who was 20 years old at the time and from El Salvador, was charged with both murders and is still waiting for his hearings.

Detectives said in the arrest report that Fuentes admitted to going after Velasquez-Morales on Oct. 30 in front of his home on South H Street and 10 Avenue South in Lake Worth.

The report said that Fuentes and his “associates” were in a car, and that Fuentes got out, pointed a gun at the victim, and stole from him.

The report said that when Velasquez-Morales ran away after his money was stolen, Fuentes shot him because a “demon” in his head told him to.

Two 17-year-olds from El Salvador were caught and charged with the murder.

Three other teens, two of whom were 17 and one of whom was 16, were arrested on Nov. 5 for killing Sanchez-Morales.

Investigators think the suspects went after Hispanic guys who might not have papers because they are less likely to report crimes out of fear of being sent back to their home country.

PBSO says that all of them are from El Salvador or Honduras and are in the U.S. illegally.
