Local Residents Unite Against Violence, Save 65-Year-Old Woman Outside Publix

Two bystanders thwarted a potential robber who assaulted a 65-year-old woman outside a Publix store in Hillsborough County on Monday, as per authorities.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the assailant, identified as 42-year-old Robert Moore, approached the woman in the Publix parking lot on Boyette Road, forcefully knocked her to the ground, and seized her keys.

A witness promptly dialed 911, while two other individuals rushed to the woman’s aid and apprehended Moore.

They managed to restrain him until law enforcement arrived, leading to Moore’s arrest on charges of robbery by sudden snatching, battery, and battery on a victim over 65, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

Moore was subsequently booked into a Hillsborough County jail, where he is currently held on a $4,500 bond.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated that, “The swift actions of these Good Samaritans echo the strength and unity of our tight-knit community.”
