After showers, storms, and a cold front passed through the area on Wednesday night, we had a gorgeous Thursday afternoon.
Overnight, most places should have generally clear skies with lows in the 60s; however, a few locations close to the Pennsylvania border may see lows in the upper 50s.
There will likely be a mix of clouds and sunshine on Friday along with the persistently low humidity. On Friday, the high will peak in the lower to medium 80s.
On Friday night and continuing through Saturday, a warm front will start to move northward toward the region. As a result, the humidity will return to tropical levels, making it extremely sticky as the weekend approaches.
On Saturday afternoon, expect partly overcast skies with a risk of showers and thunderstorms. Any storm that forms will be supported by conditions that are conducive to severe weather.
Damage-causing winds and lone tornadoes will pose the most risks from any strong storms. Later in the day on Saturday, upper-level energy is expected to move in from the west across western Maryland, increasing the possibility of seeing some isolated storms form along the warm front.

By Saturday night, that upper-level energy will approach I-95, raising the likelihood of storms moving into the Baltimore region by then. It goes without saying that with the possibility of heavy storms this weekend, you will need to be mindful of the weather.
Sunday morning will see the front go across the region, and there may be another chance of strong to severe storms, especially to the east of I-95.
With heat index values above 100 degrees, Sunday afternoon highs will peak in the mid- to upper-90s, particularly before the cold front moves through the Eastern Shore and southern Maryland.
Beginning next week, there will be a return of lower humidity. Monday and Tuesday will feature mainly sunny skies, cozy evenings, and pleasant afternoons.
Overnight lows will be in the 60s and highs in the 80s. Just in time for the Fourth of July, humidity levels will begin to slowly rise again on Wednesday and Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible.
